Farm Worker – Seasonal / Year round

Employment type: full-time / part-time

Description: Full time or part time position. Knowledge of Farm operations is not required, but highly desirable. Duties include general Farm maintenance tasks, seeding planting, transplanting, weeding, thinning, pruning, irrigation, trellis maintenance, harvesting, customer service, retail sales, loading/unloading, use of hand tools, small equipment, and other manual tasks as directed.

Compensation: $17 - $18 per hour, depending on experience.

Location: Ethel, WA.  (Lewis County, WA)

Position Requirements:
• Demonstrated ability to follow directions and work with or without supervision.
• Proactive communication with Supervisor, Leadership, Customers, and other Farm Workers.
• Demonstrated reliability and punctuality, work effectively in team/crew environment, adherence to all safety regulations, quality, and operating procedures.
• Must be able to work some Saturdays,  to accommodate harvesting crops or working at the Farm Stand.
• Ability to work in all outside weather temperatures and conditions; required to climb on/off equipment frequently; bending, lifting, pulling & pushing up to 50 lbs. on a frequent basis for various tasks.

Physical Requirements:
Ability to lift and carry 50 lbs. as needed; ability to drive lawn & garden tractors; able to work in all weather conditions including but not limited to heat, cold, wet and windy. Ability to walk and perform physical work in fields with steep and/or uneven terrain, mud, dust and loose soil. Ability to climb, crawl, squat, kneel and bend. Ability to sit in tractor for extended periods of time. Closed toe footwear required. Must be able to tolerate wearing protective gear (Ear, Eye, Face, Foot, Hand) when required.

Education:
Basic writing and reading skills. Must be able to read and understand English for verbal instructions and written equipment manuals. Ability to safely understand safety signs and other regulatory and internal forms.

Schedule: varies, up to 5-days per week/8 hours a day & may require seasonal night work & extended hours during harvest.

Transportation: Must have reliable transportation to/from Farm.
